Virtual Console Releases For June 16 2008

Nintendo has released three new games this week, one of which is on the virtual console with the other two being WiiWare games. For the virtual console we get
Samurai Shodown for the Neo-Geo and new to the WiiWare this week is Block Breaker Deluxe and Cocoto Fishing Master.

Yeah, Nintendo will release that crap but not Earthbound.
Why isn’t Nintendo giving us anything worth while?! I come to this site every day hoping for a cool classic virtual console game….nothin’! Then maybe they’re making some decent games for Wii ware….nothin’! It’s getting very frustrating! I’ve had $20 worth of Wii points on my console since January and have had nothing worth spending it on!
Hey CSquaredo6, you got that right!!!
what a bunch of garbage! i have a ton of points on my console as well.
Me three. I’ve downloaded a handful of games, but none of it did I really need. I still have a load of points basically waiting for something substantial like Kirby Super Star, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, etc.. Real classics.
Nintendo really needs to get their priorities straight: you know, release games that people ACTUALLY LIKED rather than games nobody played. (I mean, there’s a reason nobody played them, right?) In the very least, if they have to release some unknown game, would it kill them to release some beloved classic alongside it?
So seriously, Nintendo. Anytime before the NEXT generation of consoles would be wonderful.
How long do you guys figure the Wii is going to be on store shelves? Another three years, perhaps? A replacement system hasn’t been announced, so you’d figure they’re going to keep up with this Wii thing (and Virtual Console thing along with it) for awhile.
From the sounds of it, you guys would have Nintendo release all of their good titles immediately. Why release this “crap” every week? If they’ve got games like Chrono Trigger and Earthbound sitting out, why not do their best to get all of them onto the Virtual Console as soon as possible? Well, I’m pretty sure Nintendo doesn’t want to shoot their load on this one. If you guys had it your way, we’d get all of the games we wanted now, and we’d have absolutely NOTHING to look forward to for the next three years. You wouldn’t have to hope to see an old classic, we would KNOW far ahead of time that there’s nothing they could possibly release that would get our attention. All of the good games have been released.
We will get Earthbound. We will get Super Mario RPG. We will get Majora’s Mask. Chill out, everyone. Sit back and enjoy the fact that we’re getting three new, cheap games a week, and rejoice in the fact that one day Nintendo will completely surprise you with one of your all-time favorites. I personally find Virtual Console Mondays pretty exciting.
I’m not saying these titles won’t come out, but it’s still frustrating. I come back here with great expectations every Monday, but reaction usually ends up being “what the heck is that?”. I mean, Virtual Console was one of the concepts that really had me excited to get a Wii; seeing it disappoint me week after week is a little exhausting though.
But I’m not about to argue because you’re right: the games we really want WILL come out eventually. However, all I’m saying is that I don’t think it would be such a bad idea to release classics perhaps more frequently than they do? One commercial success per month would be a step-up at this point. I’m willing to be patient to replay my old favorites, but I’m not willing to reward Nintendo with my money for something I’m not interested in playing.
Joshtee, how do you know?
NOA is already refusing to release Earthbound. And Chrono Trigger doesn’t seem likely.
You don’t know the release dates. It’s not like EVERY game is gonna come out.
PS: Do you even have a Wii?
