Virtual Console Releases For January 28 2008

Again Nintendo disappoints with only one game being released this week, but they do make up for it a little by releasing another Nintendo 64 game. The newly released game this week is: 1080° Snowboarding for the N64, enjoy!

LAME!!! WTH Nintendo!? They should release a Game Boy section and release classic game boy games… I’d really like to play Metroid 2 Return of Samus again… first metroid game I ever beat!
What are the odds of them ever releasing any of the TG-16 Cd-based games? Like the TV Sports series?
I’d say fairly good since they’ve released some Sega CD games…
@Daniel
Actually, they already have released a few TG-16 CD-ROM games.
Released so far:
Monster Lair
Riot Zone
Super Air Zonk
The Dynastic Hero
Right now I have them all listed under the TurboGrafx-16 category with (CD-ROM) appended to the end of the name, but I’ll soon be creating a category specifically for the CD based TG-16 games.
@Juggernautxug
Which Sega CD games have been released? I don’t remember any being released yet.. but maybe I’m wrong.
wasn’t one of the sega cd sonic games released?
Well in that case I want “Lords of the Rising Sun” as soon as possible!
Alright, I was just on Virtual Console… doesn’t anyone find it ironic that there are something like 28 Super Nintendo games, and 45 Sega Genesis games? Why the hell are there more games for the system that was in direct competition with their OWN system, the SNES?
People talk about getting Game Boy games on here and stuff… I’d actually like to see LESS systems on Virtual Console. If they’re going to stick to this 1-2 games a week format they’ve adopted, I’d rather they not keep throwing in some obscure TG-16 game rather than one of their beloved SNES classics. Last I checked, the SNES outsold the Genesis, TG-16, and NEO-Geo by a ton — their games are more recognizable, and some (like me and a LOT of others who believe the SNES was the best console of all-time) would say they’re a whole lot better.
So what gives, Nintendo? Why not focus on releasing your OWN titles for a change? The third-party system games outnumber the Nintendo games!
how do i set up paper mario64 for the WII im trying to get for my birthhday? i really miss the game, it was a game that me and all my cousins would play, and now that most of them are gone i miss them, and the game. but i still like to watch youtube “speedrun” videos to help bring back the memories back it doesnt do any good. so, HOW DO I SET UP THE VIRTUAL CONSOLE FOR WII, I WANT TO PLAY PAPER MARIO 64 LIKE THE GOOD OL DAYS
@Josh
I couldn’t agree more. From what I can tell, Nintendo’s release schedule for the virtual console is rather odd and it doesn’t seem to have much of a pattern to it at all.
Then again I also think that Nintendo saves their prized games for dry spells in the Wii’s actual release schedule.
@Josh Beal
Check out Nintendo’s page about the Wii Shop Channel or read up on it on Wikipedia’s entry for the Wii Shop Channel. Both of those sites should help you understand how to purchase and use virtual console games.
