Super Mario Bros. 2Join Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool and Toad in an incredible fantasy world on a quest to save the day. This time, they have little more than vegetables to defend themselves with. Pick up items and throw them at your adversaries to clear levels in seven massive worlds. Even enemies can be picked up and tossed across the screen. Each character has a unique set of abilities: Luigi can jump higher and farther than any of the other characters, Toad can dig extremely fast and pull items out of the ground quicker than anyone and the princess is the only one who can jump and hover temporarily. This unique installment in the Mario series will keep you coming back for more.

ugh… worst mario game EVER! even worse than the Mario Land for the origonal gameboy! I say stay away from this!

I hope they release the lost levels from Mario Allstars. Or hell, release super mario allstars already!

I think SMB 2 was ok, but yeah it is probably the worst mario land style of the series. I’ve been waiting for SMB 3 to come out or as like you said Allstars should come out. I just don’t know if putting out Allstars would be a cost effective move for Nintendo right now though.

Guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Man I actually like this game, probably because it’s so off the wall different than the rest of the series. If I remember correctly SMB2 in Japan was a true SMB game but they felt it to be too hard for North America so they ripped the characters out of this crazy Japanese game, put the SMB crew in and slapped the Super Mario Bros 2 label on it.

I’ve been trying to pick this one up for my old Nintendo. guess I don’t have to pay a high price on ebay for it anymore!

You are right about Nintendo putting the Mario characters into a different game. The game that was used for the North American SMB2 was Doki Doki Panic.
