Looks like it’s Thursday again, and with that being said it’s time for another virtual console video demo! This week I play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the NES and it is just as difficult now as it was back 10+ years ago when I played the cartridge version. In the game you get to play as all four of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, each with their own special weapon (some are far better than others). In this video demo I play through the first level, and do quite a crappy job at it as well (it has been far too long since I’ve played the game and I’m in a bit of a hurry as well). All in all you get a good feel for how the game is played, but remember this particular NES on the virtual console cost 600 points instead of the usual 500, so if you want to play the game make sure you have the right amount avaliable. Enough small talk, lets get to the video.
All the latest virtual console games released every Monday!
Video Demo: Alien Crush
February 28, 2008 3:48 pm
It’s Thursday and you know what that means! That’s right, another virtual console video demo for your viewing pleasure. This week I play Alien Crush, a TurboGrafx-16 game, on the Nintendo Wii virtual console. Alien Crush is a pretty fun pinball game that is part of a series that I’ve already demoed once. So sit back, relax, and check out our newest virtual console video demo.
Singing Virtual Console Reviews
February 26, 2008 2:28 pm
I’ve decided to pick up a new feature this week. What is this new feature that I speak of? Well, it is none other than the singing virtual console reviews done by GameJew. Why am I doing this? Mostly because I was contacted by GameJew and asked to pick it up, so I figured I would try it out and see how things go. Will this be replacing the video demo feature that I already do? No, I will still release a new virtual console video demo every Thursday just as I have been; esentially I feel that GameJew provides a short humorus take on reviewing the virtual console games and my videos focus on straight gameplay and functionality. I do beleive they can coexist and be friends quite easily.
So, enough stalling… lets get to this week’s singing virtual console review!
Video Demo: Donkey Kong Country
February 21, 2008 6:20 pm
After a bit of trouble I finally have this week’s virtual console video demo ready! This week I play Donkey Kong Country, a Super Nintendo game, on the virtual console. This game is quite fun and if you never had a SNES like me, you know you have been missing out on a ton of good game. In other words, check out the video after the jump and then decide for your self if you would like to own this fun game on the virtual console. Be sure to look out for the tons of secret areas this game has!
Video Demo: Contra III: The Alien Wars
February 14, 2008 1:08 pm
Well, it’s Thursday again and Valentines Day as well. What does this mean? It means there is a new video demo ready for your viewing pleasure. This week I play Contra III: The Alien Wars, a Super Nintendo game that has been available on the virtual console for quite a while now. I found the game to be really fun and believe it does a good job of recreating the original Contra feel. So with no further delays, follow the jump to check out this week’s virtual console video demo.
Video Demo: Shining Force
February 7, 2008 7:43 pm
This week’s video demo covers a great RPG for the Sega, Shining Force. To tell the truth, I’ve never been that big into role playing games, but Shining Force is a lot of fun and in my opinion one of the best RPGs out there. Just as a warning, the video is a bit long, but it showcases the game very well. So sit back, relax, and watch the newest video demo after the jump.
Video Demo: Axelay
January 31, 2008 1:20 pm
I’ll keep this short, because I’m short on time. This week’s video demo is of a great Super Nintendo game called Axelay. The basics are, shooter, interesting scrolling effect, can be pretty hard, and very fun. Follow the jump to check out the movie.
Video Demo: Kirby’s Adventure
January 24, 2008 8:36 pm
Well, today is still Thursday, so I’m not too late with this week’s video demo. This week I cover Kirby’s Adventure on the virtual console. I haven’t ever played this game, I feel like I should have by now, but it turned out to be quite fun. The big thing about this game, if you don’t know already, is that when you swallow an enemy you gain their special ability. Enough chit-chat and on with the video…
Video Demo:Top Hunter
January 17, 2008 10:05 pm
After a long delay I finally got the video finished and uploaded. This week I play a Neo-Geo game, Top Hunter, which has turned out to be pretty fun so far. Lets just get straight to the video, enjoy!
Video Demo: Bubble Bobble
January 10, 2008 7:00 pm
I’m a bit late today, but late is better than never and this week I give you Bubble Bobble! All in all the game is pretty simple in practice but as the levels progress things get a bit more tough. I’m just going to keep this babble short and sweet, so go ahead in check out the video after the jump.
