All the latest virtual console games released every Monday!

Mushroom Singdom

June 27, 2008 8:50 am

I just got the word that there has been a new Mushroom Singdom released and this week it covers Alex Kidd on the virtual console.

Also, I just wanted to let everyone know that the weekly virtual console video demo is on hold right now; it seems like every thing has been costing more lately and with a lack of games that I actually want to pay for on my own I can’t justify buying a new virtual console game each week. Instead if a game comes up that I’m willing to buy I’ll record a video and post it, but otherwise the video demos will be on a bit of a hiatus.

Without further rambling, check out this week’s Mushroom Singdom after the jump. … More

Video Demo: Soldier Blade

June 5, 2008 1:08 pm

I’ve got a new virtual console video demo ready and this week I play a TurboGrafx-16 game, Soldier Blade. It really isn’t much different than the other space shooter games out there. So give the video a look and you can decide for your self if you would like to buy it or not. As always, don’t forget to check back on Monday for the next set of virtual console and WiiWare releases! (video after the jump)

Video Demo: Metal Slug

June 1, 2008 12:29 am

Ok so I know it is late on a Sunday morning, but I guess late is better than later. This week I finally got around to making a new virtual console video demo of a great Neo-Geo game called Metal Slug. The game has fun game play, great graphics and animations, and is just all around a good time. That’s my quick review and opinion so check out the video after the jump and be sure to come back tomorrow for the new line up of virtual console games and maybe some new WiiWare games as well.

Video Demo: Sonic The Hedgehog

May 15, 2008 5:01 pm

It’s that time of the week again! Yes, it is time again for the virtual console video demo and this week I bring you Sonic The Hedgehog on the Sega Genesis. I’m sure most of you have played this game at least once in your life, but if not I would be a bit ashamed and should head straight to the Wii Shop Channel and make a quick purchase. There really isn’t much to say that the video doesn’t explain, so I’ll just let it do the talking. One thing to note though is that the video has a bit of slow down in a few spots, but that is only due to the encoding process of making the video, the game actually runs beautiful on the virtual console with no slowdown what so ever.

Video Demo: Ghosts’n Goblins

May 8, 2008 4:32 pm

It’s Thursday and I have another fresh virtual console video demo ready for the viewing! This week I play the NES classic Ghosts’n Goblins, which is usually known for its fun yet hard platformer game play. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t do so great in this video, but I probably haven’t played this game in well over a decade. So enough chit chat, head on to the video demo after the jump.

Video Demo: Ice Climber

May 1, 2008 3:17 pm

It has taken me a little while, but I just finished this week’s virtual console video demo! This week I play Ice Climber, and well, there really isn’t a whole lot to say about it because the game is pretty self explanatory. The concept is to get to the top of the level without dying, pretty easy enough, right? So without any more filler, I suggest you check out this weeks video demo, which can be found after the jump.

GameJew from mannmade.tv has informed me that he has put out a new video this week and as always he takes a look at this week’s virtual console releases on the Wii. I’ve only watched a bit of the video so far, but from what I’ve seen/heard this week’s songs are pretty good. All you have to do now is follow the jump and press play.

Video Demo: The Legend of the Mystic Ninja

April 24, 2008 3:03 pm

First thing, sorry about missing last week’s virtual console video demo, I’ve been pretty busy although that really is not a good excuse. So, lets get on to this week’s video ok? This week I play the game The Legend of the Mystic Ninja, a Super Nintendo game, on the virtual console. My first reactions to this game were being a bit confused as to what I was supposed to do, but I quickly figured out that whacking the guys and picking up the objects that they drop was a good idea and whacking the girls and getting touched by the guys is a very bad idea.

After the initial wandering around phase I work my way to the first boss of the game, but due to my lack of skill and time spent playing this game I quickly lost after figuring out the weak spot. All in all, I think the game has some potential for being fun if I had spent more time with it and don’t forget there is two player support so that could add a bit of fun as well. So, now I suggest you follow the jump and check out this week’s virtual console video demo and decide for yourself.

Mushroom Singdom

April 17, 2008 1:28 am

Looks like GameJew has done it again with a new singing reviews of this week’s virtual console releases. It truly appears that he did not find the latest games to be much of an addition to the virtual console lineup, but the songs are quite interesting so I suggestion a quick viewing even if you are not interested in Fantasy Zone or Mega Turrican. So in other words, check out this week’s Mushroom Singdom after the jum.

*Note* This week’s virtual console video demo is going to be late, I blame school on it, but hopefully I’ll have a new one up and ready Thursday night or Friday some time.
