In this sequel to Ecco the Dolphin, everyone’s favorite underwater hero must battle the Vortex Queen and her hive of drones. The wicked queen followed Ecco back to Earth from the future and quickly established her hive. It’s up to Ecco to defeat this alien threat by navigating the depths of his side-scrolling world, solving puzzles and receiving help from his marine-mammal friends. When Ecco used the time machine to save his pod, he split the stream of time in two. He must now restore the rift before the world is permanently changed into a mechanical world, sucked dry by the Vortex.

Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Robotnik) is back to continue his zealous search for the Chaos Emeralds needed to fuel his new Death Egg contraption. The evil doctor secretly follows Sonic to his vacation spot, Westside Island, and launches a full-scale attack, imprisoning all the helpless animals of the island and turning them into mindless worker drones. Now Sonic must thwart the doctor’s plans at all costs. This time he isn’t alone, as a peculiar two-tailed fox named Miles Prower (aka Tails) decides to aid him in the battle. Together they must locate the Chaos Emeralds before Dr. Eggman does, and put an end to his diabolical scheme.

Not long after the devastating reign of the wicked Death Adder, another evil arose. Dark Guld and his minions invaded and took hold of the prized Golden Axe with plans to destroy it. Once again, as a fierce barbarian named Ax-Battler, a fearless female Amazon known as Tyris-Flare or a ferocious dwarf named Gilius Thunderhead, you will wield steely swords and powerful magic in an all-out war to recover the sword. Once you slash your way through the six side-scrolling levels, you’ll get the chance to defeat Dark Guld once and for all.
During ToeJam and Earl’s trip back home, a number of Earthlings hitchhiked on their spaceship and are now infesting planet Funkotron. ToeJam and Earl must track down the Earthlings in order to capture them in large jars and ship them back to Earth in spaceships. It is also their funky mission to find 10 beloved objects belonging to Lamont the “Funkapotamus,” the source of all funk in the universe, so they can persuade him to return to his favorite funk-filled planet. ToeJam and Earl must use their “funk powers,” such as Funk Move and Funk Scan, to assist in evading and capturing the Earthlings.
Kid Chameleon is a platform game in which the main character “Kid Chameleon” uses masks to change into different characters so that he may use different abilities. In the game you will travel through many levels, most of which finding the flag is the main goal, all the while working your way towards the final boss so that you can set all of the missing kids free. As you travel through the game’s 100 or so levels you will find masks that transform Kid Chameleon into different characters. Each character has different abilities some of which are Iron Knight’s ability to scale walls as well as having the highest hit points, Red Stealth’s ability to break through certain floors, EyeClops’ ability to see hidden blocks, as well as the other abilities of the nine other characters.
Streets of Rage 2 is a side scrolling beat ‘em up game that was originally released in 1992. The game is based one year after the original game, with Blaze, Adam, and Axel celebrating their year old victory. The next day though, Blaze and Axel find Adam’s house wrecked as well as a picture of Adam chained by Mr. X. Now it is up to Axel, Blaze, Skate, and Max Thunder to rescue Adam. This sequel brings about a few changes, most notably being the special attacks as well as each characters regular attacks have been expanded as well. If you are looking for a classic style beat ‘em up game you may just want to give Streets of Rage 2 a try.
Wonder Boy in Monster World is the fifth game in the Wonder Boy series. In the game you play as a young man named Shion, who must defeat an invading force of monsters. While Wonder Boy in Monster World is a platformer style game it does include some RPG themes, some of which include increasing your life bar and equipping different types of armor, weapons, and magic. There is one save slot that can only be used at inns throughout the world, but be sure not to die otherwise you will be greeted with a “Game Over” screen.
Originally released in 1996, Virtua Fighter 2 is the second in this long running series of 3D fighter games. The graphics of this game were considered to be breakthrough graphics for its time, but apart from the graphics Virtua Fighter 2 is a solid fighter game with eight unique characters to choose from.
Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle is a platform game on the Sega Genesis and is the fifth game in the Alex Kidd series. This time around Alex discovers that his father, King Thor, is not dead; so Alex heads to planet Paperock to try and rescue his father. In the game you will find yourself punching blocks and enemies as well as finding vehicles to make it across some levels. Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle also introduces a system of Rock, Paper, Scissors for boss fights and winning items in different shops.
Beyond Oasis is an action-adventure game that was originally releases in 1994. In this game you take on the role of Prince Ali, who has just found a gold armlet that once belonged to a wizard that waged a war against an evil doer. The gold armlet that Prince Ali found is used to summon the four spirits of water, fire, shadow, and plants to stop the evil person using a silver armlet to create chaos and destruction.
