Another Monday has rolled around and Nintendo has just updated the list of games available on the virtual console with two new games. The two newest games to be released are: Spelunker for the Nintendo and Super R-Type for the Super Nintendo. So have a good Monday, a happy St. Patrick’s Day, and give these two new virtual console games a look this week.

Virtual Console Releases For March 10 2008

Well it looks like Nintendo has jumped back to two new virtual console releases a week, but in a way I think they are trying to make up for the lack of effort as of lately. The reason for saying that is this week Nintendo has released two import games on the virtual console, which usually makes a lot of people happy. On to the good stuff, the new games this week are: DoReMi Fantasy: Milon’s DokiDoki Adventure for the Super Nintendo and Puyo Puyo 2: Tsuu for the Sega Genesis.

Puyo Puyo 2: Tsuu

(7 votes, average: 2.57 out of 5) Loading ...The object of this head-to-head puzzle game is to clear your grid of falling patterns called puyos by forming chains of four or more same-colored puyos in a straight line or one of several geometric patterns. What makes this a challenging two-player contest is the fact that when you clear a chain of puyos from your grid, it drops a random piece of filler onto your opponent’s grid. The more puyos you clear, the more you fill your opponent’s grid, and if you can clutter up his grid enough to fill it to the top, you’ve won the game. An intriguing backstory makes this an amusing experience for one or two players.

Video Demo: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Looks like it’s Thursday again, and with that being said it’s time for another virtual console video demo! This week I play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the NES and it is just as difficult now as it was back 10+ years ago when I played the cartridge version. In the game you get to play as all four of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, each with their own special weapon (some are far better than others). In this video demo I play through the first level, and do quite a crappy job at it as well (it has been far too long since I’ve played the game and I’m in a bit of a hurry as well). All in all you get a good feel for how the game is played, but remember this particular NES on the virtual console cost 600 points instead of the usual 500, so if you want to play the game make sure you have the right amount avaliable. Enough small talk, lets get to the video.
